Leadership Update

Dear Parents/Carers,

I am writing to provide an important update regarding leadership at the academy. Following a robust and extensive recruitment process, I am pleased to announce that Rupi Bellingham will be continuing as permanent Head of School at George Salter Academy from September 2024.

With Rupi leading the academy day-to-day, I will be continuing to oversee George Salter Academy and Ormiston Sandwell Community Academy (OSCA), also a part of Ormiston Academies Trust, in my role as Senior Principal.

I will be working closely with Rupi and Peter Mckinniss, the new Head of School at OSCA to support them in their new roles, as we ensure both academies are providing a well-rounded and ambitious education for every student.

Rupi has previously been Vice Principal at George Salter Academy for the past seven years and, as I am sure you will agree, has played a significant role in ensuring our academy’s success. I am particularly grateful for her excellent work leading the academy more recently whilst I have been supporting OSCA.

She is looking forward to continuing to work closely with students, staff and families alike, as we strive to deliver the high standard of education our students deserve.

In the meantime, I would like to thank you all for your continued support. It continues to be a pleasure to support GSA and our wonderful students and community, and we are very excited for this next stage in our school’s journey.
