Business

BTEC National Extended Certificate (equivalent to one A Level) - New 2016;
BTEC National Diploma (equivalent to two A Levels) - New 2016

Students will develop a sound understanding of the business world and the range of areas within this subject. Students will be able to explore how a business operates and how marketing and finance help a business to achieve their objectives. All tasks are applied to real businesses to allow students to develop skills required to respond to real issues in the business world. The range of assessment methods will allow students to develop exam and assignment response skills. 95% of universities and colleges in the UK now accept BTECs – including Oxford University (Source: UCAS, Meeting the Needs of Learners, Providers and Universities (2016)

  • Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Business (360 GLH) 601/7159/5
  • Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Business (720 GLH) 601/7157/1

Entry requirements

A minimum of five GCSEs graded 5 or above including English and Maths

Progression routes from this course

Students can progress onto degree courses covering a whole range of business areas such as Human Resources, Marketing, Accounting and Finance, Economics and Business Law.
